Thierry discusses the inspiration behind his documentary Grandma’s Roses, which highlights the labor and love of women in Black families, and his groundbreaking film The Black Fatherhood Project, which opens dialogue about the realities of fatherhood in Black America. He also shares insights from his children’s book A Kids Book About Systemic Racism, designed to help young readers understand how racism is woven into laws, schools, and institutions.

Grandma’s Roses: A Tribute to Women’s Labor and Love

Jordan shares the inspiration behind his feature documentary, Grandma’s Roses. This film offers a raw and intimate portrait of the labor and love women devote to their families and communities, highlighting their role as the backbone of generational strength.

The Black Fatherhood Project

He also discusses The Black Fatherhood Project, a groundbreaking film that provides history, context, and open conversation around the realities of fatherhood in Black America. By challenging stereotypes, the project sparks dialogue about the importance of representation and legacy.

A Kids Book About Systemic Racism

In addition to his filmmaking, Jordan is the author of A Kids Book About Systemic Racism. Written for young readers, the book helps explain how racism is woven into laws, schools, stories, and institutions in ways that deeply affect people of color.

  • TAPESTRY OF BLACK VOICES AWARDS: The “Tapestry of Black Voices Awards” honors our local communities and showcases the incredible creativity and voices of Black communities throughout the United States.
